Our Mission is to promote Live Texas Music, by providing an easy to use resource to locate shows you are interested in. It is our goal to have all of the public shows for the artists we track in Texas and Oklahoma. We will be adding other states as we see the demand.
Our Inspiration came from listening to Radio Free Texas and 105.3 FM KTWL (Montgomery, TX). I quickly realized there are a lot of very talented artists bouncing around Texas, and neighboring states, that I would love to see live. I don’t necessarily care who the artist is, or what the venue is, I just want to hear good Texas Music. I couldn’t find a resource that easily did that, and was inclusive of Texas Music’s best artists. So LiveTexasMusicMap.com was born. You probably know the venues in your area, but this site gives you an easy way to check them all at once. You probably know the artists you like, but once again this site gives you the means to check them all at once and easily sift out the shows that are too far away. I feel the most powerful attribute of this site is how it can help you discover artists you are not familiar with. Keep your search criteria broad and you should find some bands that you haven’t heard of. That doesn’t mean you won’t love them given the opportunity. If you’ve heard of, and are familiar with, all the artists on this site, you are a hard core Texas Music fan! Stay tuned though because we are constantly adding more artists.
If the site helped you find a show you wouldn’t have, or at least made the search easier, drop by the forum and let us know. A little positive reinforcement never hurts! Always double check the data with the artist and venue websites. We strive for 100% accuracy, but we can make mistakes, we could be given bad data, or the details could just change at the last minute. You can also make suggestions for the site, artists you’d like us to track, or just talk Texas Music in the forum.
If they are on this site, they are Texas Music, but that is of course a wide range of sounds. So go to the artists website or myspace page and find some of their music to listen to. You can find links to all of the artists websites, myspace, facebook, and twitter pages we were able to gather on the Artists page. Bookmark the page for an easy reference to all of your favorite artists. |
